Lyceum Program Service Trip
As an extension of the Maine East's Gifted Lyceum’s Leadership for Life course, Lyceum students travel to volunteer on service projects to aid in disaster relief and blight reduction. These trips involve working with partner organizations to help local residents, from those recovering from Hurricane Katrina to those living in the poorest neighborhoods in Detroit. These relief trips are powerful learning experiences, and students who participate are forever changed and often continue a lifetime of service to others.
Grants from the Maine 207 Foundation has enabled students to attend these trips by defraying program costs. |
"The Educational Foundation has been instrumental in helping the Gifted Lyceum achieve its foundational goals." - Judith Tyler, Maine East Gifted Lyceum
