ACDA Honors Choirs
Five students from Maine East and Maine South were selected by audition for participation in the 2020 Central and North Central Region American Choral Directors Association Honor Choirs. Students representing the best in 12 states auditioned and having five students from Maine Township selected was a huge honor.
These students rehearsed under the batons of nationally acclaimed conductors, learning invaluable musical and interpersonal lessons that were brought back to their classrooms and programs, benefiting all students in the choral courses.
The two District 207 teachers attending learned the latest pedagogical trends from the conductors, benefiting their students as better musicians and teachers.
A grant from the Maine 207 Foundation enabled Maine East and Maine South choir directors and students to participate by defraying program costs.

"Being chosen for participation in an ensemble that features the best singers from a twelve-state area is an amazing honor. Without the financial help of the Maine 207 Educational Foundation, the fees involved would have made the experience cost-prohibitive; your assistance allowed the students to attend, make new friends, create art, and enjoy a life-altering weekend without having to worry about putting their families in financial burden. It was an absolute joy for Ms. Lee and me to watch our students hone their craft and grow as young adults -- thank you."
