The MTHS Foundation provides resources to support student well-being and promote innovative learning opportunities for the students and staff of District 207. These educational enrichment grants represent the Foundation's work toward achieving its its mission.

2024 -2025 Grants Awarded:
  • Narrative Medicine Conference – Maine East
    Interns who have been trained in narrative medicine attend conference, and will serve as the "Young Ambassadors" for the 24/25 school year program. 
2023 -2024 Grants Awarded:
  • Scholastic Bowl NAQT State Tournament @ Champaign, IL– Maine East
    Students selected to participate in the State Tournament get a chance to compete.​
  • All District Choral Concert– Maine East
    Maine East, Maine South and Maine West All School Concert, along with mini workshops led by Chicago-based professional musicians. 
  • ACDA Midwestern Regional Honor Choir– Maine South
    Four South Students selected to participate in the honor Choir in Nebraska. Other students from around the country will be in attendance. 
  • Model United Nations University of Chicago Conference– Maine South
    South Students are introduced to the art of debate, negotiation, and public speaking with a focus on the complexity of international relations/organizations.
  • BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Temple Field Trip– Maine West 
    South Asian and Indian Student Associations and Pi Sigma Pi History Honor Society explore the temple and culture together.
  • Mucho Exito Conference  – Maine East 
  • Monarch Butterfly Conservation Project  – Maine West
          Environmental Awareness Club Conservation Project. 
  • A Bilingual Book Club "Solito" - Maine West 
    Event celebrating cultural and linguistic backgrounds of Latinx culture. 
  •  Field Trip to Wagner Farm - Maine West 
    Environmental Science students explore ecosystems and where our food comes from.
  • Culture Stations – Maine South, Maine West 
    World Cultures students are exposed to a variety of regions across the globe through artifacts and food. 
  • Photography Field Trip BaHai Temple and Botanical Gardens – Maine West 
    Photography students take photographs incorporating concepts they have learned throughout the year .
  • 2nd Annual Media Career Day – Maine West
    Transportation provided to take students to Noise Floor Sound Studios for immersive experience.
  • Future Teachers Conference  – Maine West
  • A Cappella Field Trip to Laredo Taft Campus – Maine East
    Students participate in team building and leadership skills conference. 
  • Maine South Wall of Honor Alumni Spirit Wear – Maine South 
  • Illinois High School Theatre Festival  - Maine East, Maine South, Maine West
    Students attend an immersive theatre festival downstate at the University of Illinois.

  • Junior Leader Spring Leadership Trip – Maine East
  • 2023 Individual Player National Championship Tournament – Maine East
    Qualifying students attend National scholastic bowl tournament.
  • Family, Career & Community Leaders of America State Conference – Maine East
  • Constitution Team National Competition – Maine South
    Students go to Washington DC to compete at the National level. 
  • SKILLS USA State Championships – Maine East, Maine West
    Students compete against other Illinois students in the areas of Automotive Service, Computer Programming, cyber Security and more.
  • Raku Firing with Visiting Artist Carl Mankert – Maine West
    Ceramics and Design 2/Advanced students fire their own pottery works with visiting artist Carl Mankert.
  • DECA Competition – Maine West
    Students participate in a professional conference in career areas to include marketing, finance and business.
  • HOSA State Leadership Conference – Maine East, Maine South
    Students participate in HOSA State Leadership Conference and competition.
  • 2023 Auto Show Field Trip – Maine East
    Transportation provided to take students to the Chicago Auto Show.
  • Rhonda Popko Visting Artist  – Maine West 
  • Argonne National Laboratory Tour – Maine South
    Transportation provided to take students to Argonne National Lab for an immersive experience.
  • Aging in Fruit Fly Adults and Larvae – Maine South
    Science students conducted research and reported findings on the aging of fruit flies.
  • Culture Stations – Maine South
    World Cultures students are exposed to a variety of regions across the globe through artifacts and food .

  • Ojibwe Drum Keeper – Maine West
    Cultural awareness program for students presented through storytelling and music.
  • Cricket Training Session  – Maine East 
    Special event training session featuring speakers and trainers working with students on the foundation of the sport.
  • Latino Summit  – Maine East
    Summit to empower the lives of Latinx students through the pillars of success.
  • Virtual Enterprise Trade Show - Maine East 
    Virtual Enterprise students attend an annual trade show. 
  • Conchas y Chocolate: A Bilingual Book Club - Maine West 
    Event celebrating cultural and linguistic backgrounds of Latinx culture. 
  • Responsible Technology - Maine East
    A presentation geared towards using technology and social media responsibly, along with the importance of internet safety as it relates to cyber bullying.  
  • Choir Performance at Illinois Wesleyan University - Maine West 
    Transportation for the Maine West Choralier's to perform at a choral concert.
  • Model United Nations University of Chicago Conference - Maine West 
    Competition that educates high school students in the art of debate, negotiation and public speaking.
  • Illinois High School Theatre Festival  - Maine East
    Maine East student attend an immersive theatre festival downstate at the University of Illinois.
  • Yonty Friesman Presentation - Maine West
    Speaker on why media literacy is important and what that looks like not only in the school setting but in your personal life as well.
  • Black Excellence is Everywhere - Maine West
    Black professionals speak to Black Student Union/Black Empowerment members, and any other students interested in attending.
